To revive the glorious past of the serene Manginapudi beach, the Tourism Department authorities have decided to come up with many attractions on the beach, which is 10-km away from Machilipatnam.

A team led by Assistant Tourism Officer G. Rama Lakshmana Rao on Thursday held talks with hawkers and lensmen on the beach and explained them about the proposed one-crore project. “Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has allocated Rs. 50 crore to develop tourism destinations in Kondapalli Circle and Rs. 1 crore for the Manginapudi beach,” Mr. Rama Lakshmana Rao told newsmen. However, the tourism officials promised hawkers and photographers to issue identity cards and asked them to maintain the beach clean and green and make the spot tourist-friendly.

The local petty businessmen and photographers expressed their willingness to join hands with the Tourism Department to turn the beach into one of the best destination in order to boost the economic activity.

Mr. Rama Lakshamana Rao said that around Rs. 1 crore would be spent on beautification works on the open space of the beach, construction of rest rooms and proposed theme park.
