Management meet Smriddhi-2012 attracts large number of students

The Hyderabad-based NTT Data Director Anthony Reddy has said that Masters in Business Administration students should think from an entrepreneurial perspective and try to acquire knowledge on business developments, so that they can become role models for future generations.

At the SAMRIDDHI-2012, a national level management students’ meet orgnaised on the Sasi Institute of Technology and Engineering at Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District, Wipro Technologies Sales Head Koushik, said that present generation students would become entrepreneurs if they had the will power. He spoke about different types of employees who work in various organisations and explained that they will be dependent on other independent contributors, interdependent employees and challenging employees.

The students of Management Department of the college organised the Third National Management Meet "SAMRIDDHI-2012" on April 12 and 13 on their campus and proved that they had organisational skills, a release said. They designed events such as Business Quiz, Young Manager, Stock game, Business plan and Ad making etc, in this meet to test how the budding executives excelled in managerial skills as well as decision making situations.

The meet was inaugurated by our College chairman Burugupalli Venugopala Krishna and Vice-chairman B. Ravi kumar in the presence of executives from corporate sector.

Other speakers included Satish Kadiyala, Director, HR, Capital IQ, Srinivas Reddy Sr. Manger, Prokarma Softech Pvt. Ltd., Jafar Ali, Director, Centre, for Human Renaissance, who dwelt on contemporary issues in management education and the role of students. Madras Management Association Students Chapter was launched by G.P. Vijay Kumar on the college campus.

In the valedictory session corporate executives conducted stress interviews for the participants in the mega meet. Vice-president (HR) Sheela advised the students to develop communication skills and improve knowledge about the corporate culture from classroom itself. The other guests included Dinesh K. Babu, Rajeswara Rao, S.M.(Recruitment) TESCO, Prabakaran, Sridevi, HR managers of the Globerena Technologies, who were present and advised the students on various techniques in facing management interviews.

Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners in various competitions. More than 200 students participated in the events from nine colleges. Seshubabu, college academic director, P. Rama Krishna, HoD, Dept. of Management, M.M. Sastry, Training Officer and Heads of the all other departments, teaching and non-teaching members were present at this meet, which concluded with a cultural event.
