Sleuths of the Commissioner's Task Force on Tuesday raided a dairy parlour in Krishnalanka upon receiving information about sale of misbranded buttermilk and lassi sachets.

Police found that the shopkeeper was selling dairy products under the brand name Vijaya Sai. The packaging, design and brand logo of Vijaya Sai were found to be similar to that of popular Vijaya Dairy of The Krishna District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union. The buttermilk and lassi were poor in terms of quality and the makers do not have any permissions from the authorities.

Also, officials found sachets of cold drinks and other products that were made without any permissions. The shopkeeper was taken into custody by the police and officials of the Food Safety Department collected samples of the buttermilk and other unnamed products being sold at the store.
