New Delhi-based Ability Unlimited Foundation to be presented the event
Members of Malayalee Association, Vijayawada, will organise - ‘With a Difference’ - a charity show in the city, to be presented by the New Delhi-based Ability Unlimited Foundation.
“This show will showcase the talent of differently abled artists. Theirs is a remarkable ability wherein through sheer grit and determination, these young men and women have evolved themselves to fit in the normal stream of society. Ability Unlimited nurtures, trains and hones these individuals before putting them up on the stage across the world to warm the hearts of spectators,” Sasi B. Nambiar, president of the Association, told a press conference here on Friday. Elaborating further on the extra-ordinary talent of this set of performers, he said that on wheel-chairs and crutches they perform Bharatanatyam, yoga, martial arts, Sufi dances and the recite Bhagwad Gita.
“Moving wheel chairs at speeds of 150-200kms / hr, on the spin have taken them into the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Ability Unlimited team has received several national and international awards for the outstanding work in the field of persons with disabilities,” he said.
Behind their matchless feats is their mentor and guide Guru Syed Sallauddin Pasha. Guru Pasha is a recipient of national award from the President of India for outstanding performance for creating 100 dance productions and 10,000 performances by persons with disabilities across the globe, Mr. Nambiar informed.
The Malayalee Association in Vijayawada comprises a group of Malayali families residing in and around Vijayawada.
