‘Make August 14 meet a success'

August 10, 2011 02:45 pm | Updated 02:45 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Democracy in India has given freedom to people to form committees and groups to resolve various issues.

As part of it, Jai Telangana and Jai Andhra movements have come up, BJP leaders have said.

At meeting here on Tuesday, they appealed to members of the Samaikyandhra leaders not to resort to the “cheap tactics” of scuttling meetings or ransacking halls in the name of unity.

Referring to suicide by 600 youths for Telangana, the BJP urged political leaders not to mislead the youth and use them for selfish ends. Party leader Sushma Swaraj had made it clear in Parliament that committing suicide would not help the cause. The BJP garnered 3.1 per cent of votes bagging two MLA seats in the Assembly elections.

The party gave a call to supporters of Jai Andhra to make the meeting proposed on August 14 a success.
