Mahayagnam performed for world peace

Lakshmi Narasimha Sudharshana Mahayagnam was performed at the Anantha Kodandarama swamy temple here on Sunday amid religious fervour to mark the auspicious Dhanurmasam festivities.

Vedic pandits from Bhadrachalam Rama temple led by Sri Raghavacharyulu performed the elaborate rituals as per the Pancharatra Agama tradition for world peace and prosperity under the auspices of the Brahamana Seva Samiti.

Environment Minister Sidda Raghava Rao, Ongole MLA D.Janardhana Rao, District Principal Judge M.G.Priyadarshini joined the large number of devotees in chanting Govinda Govinda as 'purnahuti' was performed. The judge won a wow singing a carnatic music kriti.

Spiritual orator P.Ramachandramurthy explained the religious significance of the Yagnam. Andal’s Thirupavai Pasuram in praise of Lord Vishnu was rendered. A community feast was organised on the occasion.
