Amidst the presence of a host of dignitaries and with rich fanfare, noted Mahaveer Jewellers inaugurated their city showroom near Hotel Fortune Murali Park on M.G. Road on Thursday, even as impressive models unveiled the brand’s traditional and contemporary designs on the occasion.

Industrialist Gokaraju Gangaraju and his wife Laila were among the long list of VIPs who graced the occasion and wished success to Mahaveer Jewellers’ managing director Sunil Jain and his family members.

The Gangaraju couple made the first purchase with Ms. Laila paying cash at the counter. Rotarian M.C. Das and his wife also graced the inauguration.

The dignitaries signed on an impressive poster placed on the second floor amidst claps and applause by the visitors. They included Lingamaneni Projects and Construction Company chairman Lingamaneni Ramesh, Mitra Agencies’ chairman Maganti Subrahmanyam, businessmen Laali and Tondepu Hanumantha Rao. Mr. Gangaraju said gold seemed to be gaining increasing acceptability among those looking for adornment purchases as well as investments. “Tell me what else is so trustworthy. Till now Indians are known for buying gold in plenty. But now India is also purchasing the yellow metal as we have seen in reports,” he said. A popular radio jockey drew attention with organisers asking her to help dignitaries with the marker to put their signatures on the poster.
