Magisterial probe into death of remand prisoners

Magisterial enquiry into the death of remand prisoners Rekulapalli Durga Prasad and Singarapu Nagaraju will be held at the Sub-Collector's office here on April 5. Durga Prasad, a resident of Vambay Colony, died while undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital (GGH) on December 16, 2009, and the enquiry will be held at 11 a.m. on April 5.

Nagaraju, a resident of New Rajarajeswaripet, died while undergoing treatment at the GGH on November 23, 2009, and the enquiry will be conducted at 11.30 a.m. on April 5. Any person interested in the incident or having knowledge about it may appear before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Revenue Divisional Officer on the prescribed date and time to give their evidence.

Body found

The Krishnalanka police fished out the body of a 35-year-old man from the Bandar Canal near Nalla Gate on Thursday. The body was in highly decomposed condition and beyond recognition. The police found black-coloured trousers and checks shirt on the body. The body was sent to the mortuary in Government General Hospital. A case was registered.
