The Intellectual Forum for Madigas (INFORM) has demanded the political parties to give priority to the community in allocating seats in general elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, INFORM State convener of the Gazetted Officers’ Committee Mr. A. Venkatratnam urged the political parties to field Madigas from Bapatla and Tirupati Lok Sabha Constituencies where Madiga population was high as compared to Malas. He said that the parties could give tickets to Malas for Amalapuram and Chittoor, which were dominated by the community.

The political parties should allot tickets to the Madigas as per their population in Assembly poll too and it would come to half of the seats reserved for SCs, he said. INFORM leaders S. Mohan Rao, K. Vikram, Gorre Gandhi, N. Venkat also spoke on the occasion.
