Lyricist and scholar Jonnavitthula Ramalingeswara Rao exhorted the people to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after launching ‘One note and vote for BJP’ campaign in the 47th Division here on Friday. Joining the party later, he said India needed a ruling dispensation capable of delivering good and stable governance and asserted that there was no party other than the BJP which fits the bill.
“Every citizen is in a state of despair under the UPA rule and is waiting for a change at the helm of affairs. The BJP has demonstrated its abilities to give good governance and it now has a courageous leader in Narendra Modi who can steer the country clear of its troubles,” Mr. Ramalingeswara Rao said.
He observed that the influence of money and liquor had been heavy on elections and the Congress showed little resolve to curb the tendency. It has instead become synonymous with dynastic politics and scandals.
Mr. Narendra Modi stood for stability and was committed to fighting against corruption which hampered development and tarnished the country’s image, the lyricist said.
BJP State secretary P. Poornachandra Rao, and divisional president U. Srinivas Chakravarthy were among those present.
