VIJAYAWADA: “To be successful in life, use the mobile sparingly. Also, don’t keep chatting for long hours,” said writer turned personality development trainer Yandamoori Veerendranath.

City based Swamy Vivekananda Mission organised ‘Success Mantra-II’ for college students here on Sunday.

On the occasion, Mr. Veerendranath said abuse of technology would take you nowhere. One loses his own identity if he spends too much time on chatting. “Instead, the moment you start loving yourself, success follows you,” he said.

“After waking up in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror, smile and admire your face for a while,” he said, adding, “this will generate positive thinking.”

Mr. Veerendranath laced his talk with adequate humour which kept the interest levels of the participants high throughout the session.

“There are many Abdul Kalams and Einsteins among you. The whole idea of this session is to help you spot the greatness in you and explore them to the maximum possible extent,” he said.

Md. Shakir, a Limca Book of Record-holder, enlightened the participants about the importance of ‘life skills' in becoming successful professionals. A successful person discovers the positivity hidden in very negativity.

“Every problem is a challenge and an opportunity to excel in life. Passion, self-awareness and self-confidence are the essential traits for achieving anything,” he said.

As students listened to him in rapt attention, Mr. Shakir spoke on developing burning desire, the power of positive attitude, building rock solid self-confidence, goal setting, time management and super memory power.

Mission founder president P. Srinivas and others were present.
