Lokesh calls for global effort against cyber attacks

It is necessary to train students, the Minister says

Information and Technology (IT) and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh has stated that cyber attacks like wannaCry can be avoided by setting up Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security.

The Minister at a review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday said that it was necessary to impart training in cyber security to the students.

International standards

It was necessary to prepare plans to include the cyber security as part of curriculum in the education system. Terrorists and criminals were using the latest technology and apps to meet their targets. It was necessary to set up cyber security centre at global level to keep a tab on criminals and arrest them, he said.

Mr. Lokesh asked the officials to speed up the process of constructing electronic manufacturing cluster 2 at Tirupati. The cluster should be of international standards and should not compromise on quality standards. He also wanted the officials to complete the Millennium towers at Madhurawada of IT SEZ by October. He also directed them to complete the IT office space bhavan at Mangalagiri by October.
