Give facts on revenue loss, Lok Satta tells A.P. Govt.

March 05, 2015 04:06 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:46 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The State Government should bring out a White Paper on the actual revenue deficit post bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh instead of indulging in political rhetoric, Lok Satta Party national chairperson Jayaprakash Narayan said.

Addressing party cadre and supporters before commencing his day-long silent – Sankalp Deeksha – protest here on Thursday, he pointed out that Lok Satta Party was the first one to actually point out the revenue loss that Andhra Pradesh would suffer as a consequence of bifurcation.

The State Government has not spelt out clearly the actual revenue deficit following bifurcation which resulted in revenue-rich Hyderabad going to Telangana. The party leader also demanded that the Central Government take steps to complete the long-pending Polavaram Project speedily.

The other two demands of the LSP being highlighted in the Sankalp Deeksha are – tax incentives to industries and special status to the State; provision of basic amenities.

A number of party leaders, incuding State president Beesetty Babji and Hyma, among others, were present.
