Bharatiya Janata Party city general secretary C. Chitti Babu on Friday asked the government to come out with the names of Ministers and officials involved in the liquor episode.
Speaking to media persons here, he demanded immediate suspension of all corrupt officers and sought resignation of Minister for Excise Mopidevi Venkata Ramana.
“On one hand the Congress says that it pursues the principles Mahatma Gandhi and on the other hand it promotes liquor business. It is unfortunate that the legislators and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana are running liquor business. They can not continue as public representatives as they have no morals,” he added.
Mr. Babu asked the government to impose ban on the shops that are not following the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) rule. He also warned of a State-wide agitation if the names of the leaders were not released. BJP leaders Ch. Rajanikanth, P. Mala Kondaiah, S.K. Armugam, and K. Ram Prasad were present.
