A city-based physics lecturer of SRR and CVR College Attada Babu Rao, with a varied interest in collecting cards and stamps as a hobby, has earned a place in The Limca Book of Records 2013 for possessing the largest postal stamp.

An active member of Lions International after retiring from the government job and doing a part-time job in the college for the interest he has in teaching, Mr. Babu Rao had earlier got a Limca Book mention in 2012 for possessing the largest number of picture cards and now has set a national record by possessing 12 CM X 3.5 CM postal stamp of Thailand. The stamp with a face value of 9 Baht (Thai currency) looks like a photograph and was issued in 1996. One of his friends sent him the stamp from Thailand. Currently he has a collection of hundreds of stamps. He keeps writing letters to his friends abroad and they too reciprocate keeping in mind his philatelic interest. “I am aiming at the largest number of post cards for next year’s Limca Book,” says Babu Rao.
