Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic A.V. Ramana on Sunday counselled the group of traffic rules violators who were rounded up in a special drive. The violators, mostly students and youth, were counselled in the presence of their parents. Traffic police wings on Saturday conducted special drives across the city and caught 52 violators.

The traffic rules violators including those who own unregistered two-wheelers, driving while talking on cell phone and triple riding in crowded junctions. Police teams also booked the drivers who were under age at Sitara centre, Raghavayya Park, Jyothi Mahal junction, Krishna Nagar, Food Junction and Budameru junction.

Mr. Ramana told the youngsters and their parents about legal action to be imposed against violators at a special counselling session, conducted at Women Police Station premises.

“Data on list of offenders booked under drunken driving, driving while talking on cell phone and triple riding will be maintained. Cancellation of the Driving Licence of the violators for the third time will be recommending to the Road Transportation Authorities.” warned the additional DCP.

The traffic police also explained about how to obtain various documents like driving licence, registration of new vehicle from road transportation authority.

Mr. Ramana said that there was an intensification of raids on drunken driving and other offences in coming days. Places like parks and crowded places will have additional traffic police to regulate traffic and check the driving of vehicles by the under aged.
