Activists of the Left parties staged a dharna to register their protest against the increase of milk prices in front of Milk Factory here on Thursday.

CPI city secretary and former MLA K.Subba Raju said that nothing could be worse than increasing the price of one litre milk by Rs 2 even as the common man was reeling under the burden of the ever increasing prices.

The price of milk had been increased twice this year, he said.

CPI (M) city secretary R Raghu demanded that the increase in price of milk should be rolled back.

The Bharatiya Janata Party in a separate statement condemned the increase in milk price. Special Correspondent
