With the government planning to shift the administration to the new capital, the Labour Department is all set to move to Vijayawada soon.

Officials concerned are proposing to construct the State Administrative Office in 10 acres at Vidyadharapuram. Commissioner (Labour, Employment and Training), D. Vara Prasad discussed the matter with the authorities on setting up of the State-level office here on Saturday. Krishna District Deputy Commissioner of Labour (DCL) N. Suryanarayana explained that the department owned the 10 acres. The officials are proposing to construct administrative block, training centres for skilled and unskilled labourers, guest house and quarters for officers in the site. “Labour Department has enough funds. Once we get approval for the government, we will take up the construction works,” said the officers.
