Krishna River Management Board to meet today

The first meeting of the full board of Krishna River Water Management Board will be held at the office of the Central Water Commission here on Thursday to finalise its jurisdiction on the river.

The meeting, presided by CWC Chairman A.B. Pandya, will be attended by Principal Secretaries of Irrigation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh B. Arvind Reddy and Adityanath Das respectively and engineers-in-chief of the two States C. Muralidhar and M. Venkateswara Rao. The board was set up as a sequel to a provision in the bifurcation Act.

Sources said the meeting will discuss the staff pattern and expenditure of the board besides looking at the drinking water needs to be met by Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects. It will also fix the protocol and schedule for water release.
