Krishna District Collector visits social welfare hostel

A thorough health check-up should be given even to children with cold and cough, Collector Budhaprakash M. Jyothi instructed the District Medical and Health Department officials.

Examining a child with ear infection at a social welfare hostel in Amudhalapalli village on Monday the Collector said cold and cough could have caused the ear infection.

Enquiry about another child who complained about difficulty to see, he suggested that the specialists be arranged to check the vision under the ‘Chinnari chupu’ scheme. Joint Collector P. Usha Rani said that they should have high goals and work to achieve them. Additional Joint Collector Ramesh Kumar said it was not impossible for people to get out of poverty. The Government had several schemes to make people into model citizens. He said Rs.2.45 crore had been sanctioned for renovation of hostels in the district. Drinking water and toilet facilities would o be improved in the hostels , he said.

Another 2.21 crore had been sanctioned to improve facilities in hostels. Machilipatnam Division RDO I. Venkateswara Rao, district BC Welfare officer Satyanaryana, DSO T.Prabhakara Rao and other officers were present.
