KLU hostel warden likely to be arrested today

The Tadepalli police are likely to arrest the warden of K.L. University girls’ hostel on Wednesday. The warden had allegedly abused a student, that led to the girl attempting suicide.

According to sub-inspector D. Naresh Kumar, according to circumstantial evidence and statement of the victim, hostel warden Dhana Lakshmi had insulted the girl and abused her in filthy language.

“Based on the statement given by the girl we investigated the case and came to a conclusion that the warden had insulted the student and also used filthy language. Her arrest in imminent,” said the SI.

Cases under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting the modesty of woman) were filed against the warden. The warden had insulted the girl, for protesting the death of another student who was killed in a road accident on April 4.

In another development, the police are also on the lookout for students who had allegedly attacked the crew of a Telugu news channel during the protest.
