Communist Party of India (CPI) national committee leader K. Narayana on Thursday said every Communist leader should strive till the party’s slogan of ‘socialism’ was realised.

Cause of Socialism

Addressing the party’s State committee meeting held near Benz Circle here, he said notwithstanding the ups and downs the party had been facing in the wake of the social and economic changes sweeping the country, a Communist should always be wedded to the cause of socialism.

Winds of change

He said winds of change had been sweeping across the world and in the present scenario, keeping the Communist movement alive had become a major challenge. Admitting that the party had faced testing times, he said but leaders should work to keep intact the credibility it enjoyed among people.

CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna, leaders Ravula Venkaiah, J. Wilson and G. Obulesu, Vijayawada unit secretaries A. Vanaja and Donepudi Sankar spoke.
