The first-ever Independence Day celebrations in Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation was a colourful one at the APSP Ground in Kurnool on Friday. The twice-born Andhra state, without the luxury of having a capital, celebrated the day with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hoisting the National Flag. Fourteen contingents participated in the parade with all the Government departments putting up tableau to highlight their work. The Hindu lensman U. Subramanyam records some of the interesting moments of the celebrations.
