Joint Collector's directive to officials

May 12, 2010 03:40 pm | Updated 03:40 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal on Tuesday asked the officials to provide all necessary infrastructural facilities for farmers at mango market at Nunna.

Dr. Uppal held a review meeting with officials of Marketing and Revenue departments, besides representatives of Mango Growers Association at the joint collector's camp office. He made it clear to the officials that they should ensure appropriate market rate for the farmers and no farmer should be duped by the middlemen.

The Joint Collector also wanted them to repair the roads at Nunna wholesale market, and lay emphasis on maintenance of sanitation. Stating that thousands of labourers were working at the market, Dr. Uppal asked the officials to open a special health centre at the market yard for providing medical facilities.
