Pedana MLA and Samaikyandhra leader Jogi Ramesh has criticised Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his comment that it was better to take poison if Telangana state is not carved out.

At a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Ramesh sought to know who would take poison if Telangana was not formed. The TRS leader was instigating gullible SC, ST and BC youth to consume poison, he alleged. The TRS leaders wanted to revive autocracy with their agitation in the Telangana region.

Those remarks proved beyond doubt that they wanted the infamous banchan dora (slavery) culture to continue in their region.

The TRS leader should clarify on his statement as to who would consume poison. Whether it was KCR or his son Taraka Rama Rao or his nephew Harish Rao, he asked.

The MLA pointed out that Mr. Rao could not sit on a hunger strike even for a single day and pleaded with the government to lift him from the hunger camp. The students revolted against his drama and forced him to continue the fast unto death. However, he did not learn any lesson from it, he added. “If he does not desist from playing tricks and hoodwinking, the people would drive him out of Telangana,” he predicted.
