Leaders of the Jai Andhra Bahujan Parishad Joint Action Committee (JAC) have said the committee will observe Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day on November 1 as black day to register their protest against what they call inordinate delay on the part of the UPA government at the Centre in giving its nod for a separate Telangana state.
“Nearly 400 people lost their lives in the movement for a separate Andhra Pradesh State and close to 600 activists sacrificed their lives for the cause of a separate Telangana. But the government remains insensitive to the demand of bifurcation of the State,” Kalaganti Ramprasad, honorary president of the committee, told a press conference on Tuesday.
President of the organisation Bandi Kaleswara Rao said the parishad, with its affiliated organisations, would stage a satyagraha in front of the Collector's office on November 1 as part of the protest.
The parishad leaders released a poster proposed to be used as part of the black day protest on November 1.
