Jagan should be questioned first, says Lagadapati

July 15, 2011 02:22 pm | Updated 02:23 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Thursday created ripples among the YSR Congress party cadre in the city following his statement that Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy should be questioned first on his allegation of a conspiracy in YSR's death.

Soon after garlanding the statue of former Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Parvathaneni Upendra here, answering questions of mediapersons on Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy's allegations of a conspiracy in his father's untimely death, he said “former Chief Minister's wife Vijayamma herself had claimed soon after death that YSR left on that ill-fated copter despite her warning not to go.”

If Vijayamma's statement cannot be believed and Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy makes an allegation close to two years after the death, “it is he who needs to be thoroughly questioned for making such baseless allegations,” said Mr. Rajagopal.

Protest

Mr Rajagopal's remarks led to protest from the YSR Congress party workers at several places in the city and they also condemned the proposed CBI probe into Jagan's assets.
