Jagan compromised people’s interests: Pawan Kalyan

May 05, 2014 12:40 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:02 pm IST - NARSARAOPET/ONGOLE/GUDIVADA:

Film actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan kept the guns blazing on YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at roadshows in Seemandhra on the penultimate day of campaigning for the general elections. While reiterating his support to the BJP-TDP combine, he made it clear that his party would contest in the 2019 elections till which time, it would fight corruption.

At Narsaraopet in Guntur district, Mr. Kalyan said Mr. Reddy could not become Chief Minister of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh as he had failed to strike back at K. Chandrasekhara Rao for his utterances and basically for not ensuring their security.

By unilaterally dividing the State, the Congress has hurt the sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh. People should vote only for those parties which are capable of undoing the damage inflicted to ‘Telugu pride’.

Jana Sena will not extend support to those indulging in corrupt activities, Mr. Kalyan added. Addressing meetings at Ongole and Gudivada, Mr. Kalyan said the MPs from Seemandhra were insulted by the Congress high command, which continued to mislead people by making tall promises.

The leadership of Narendra Modi and N. Chandrababu Naidu is the need of the hour, he asserted while seeking support for the candidates of BJP and TDP. The mood of the electorate was clearly in favour of TDP and BJP, Mr. Kalyan added.
