A wild dream coming true…that was precisely what the ‘Safari – children's carnival' meant for most of the 600-odd children.

Curiously heading to the mouth of a tunnel dotted with colourful cut-outs of wild animals, they felt like a feral child in the woods walking towards the Grand Ball Room, which resembled a tiny jungle.

The children gleefully scampered all over the place. Some were distracted outside the hall where games like ‘snake and ladder', basketball, balloon shooting and mini golf besides tattoo awaited them.

Keeping with its tradition of throwing up a wide platform for kids to break away from monotony and unwind in a relaxed and playful ambiance, Hotel Fortune Murali Park repeated the act on Sunday by unfolding a fair amount of entertainment for fun-seeking kids.

In a short time the hall was chock-a-block with children pouring in droves. The surroundings exuded subtle warmth in the air as children connected to one another. In addition to series of dance competitions, individual and group, other activities like contests in drawing and hand-writing kept the young ones busy. It was then time to hit the dance floor and the hall boomed with rocking music and high energy as children swayed to peppy filmi songs played to stoke the exciting moments.

Youngsters like Mahesh and Sekhar were invited to keep the children amused by mimicry and a magic show respectively. A few young budding singers from reality shows aired by Telugu channels were also part of the fiesta while D.T.S. Anand, known for his skill to produce digital music sound, did his job with remarkable perfection.

Lavish buffet

A lavish buffet served to the hungry kids included all the yummies that kids crave for. Adding an element of nobility to the event, the hotel management invited under-privileged children, 25 each, from three local non-governmental organisations –Vasavya Mahila Mandali, Care and Share and Navajeevan Bala Bhavan. The objective was to provide these unprivileged children a rare occasion to indulge in fun a frolic that is beyond their reach.

Mayor M.V. Ratna Bindu inaugurated the event and complimented the management for its humane gesture.
