Heat wave continues in the State with mercury touching 46 degree Celsius in Tirupati city and Jagameswarapuram village of Prakasam district on Monday.
The mercury touched 45 degree Celsius in Nellore and Nandyal. It was 44 degree Celsius in Kurnool and Kadapa where Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed public meetings on Monday.
The maximum temperature recorded at Nandigama of Krishna district was also 44 degree Celsius.
Vijayawada registered maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius. Ananthapur, the other important place in Rayalaseema also registered a maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius.
Temperatures of towns and cities on the coast were less with Visakhapatnam registering a maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius, Kakinada 38, Kalingapatnam 35, and Narsapur 36 degree Celsius.
