There is a temporary pause in IT industry recruitment due to global economic recession.

As long as automation of operations in banks, industries and business organisations continue, IT industry will sustain regardless of financial ups and downs, said K. Ratna Manohar, Solution Architect at Tech Mahindra, Visakhapatnam.

He addressed a seminar here on Sunday on ‘Emerging Trends and Industry Practices’ hosted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of MVR College of Engineering and Technology, held at Hotel Swarna Grand. “In addition to acquiring a degree certificate, students must enhance their employability skills and remain an eternal learner to adopt newly emerging technologies”, he said.

College Principal K.V. Sambasiva Rao said that students must move beyond the curriculum and get certified in various technologies offered by companies like Microsoft, Oracle and Cisco to tap job opportunities in the IT industry.

He said that getting through the NAC-Tech exam conducted by the Nasscom would help job seekers enter reputed domestic IT companies and MNCs.
