Pondugala Pavan Kumar Reddy (17), a second year Intermediate student, reportedly committed suicide buy hanging in his hostel room on Saturday.
A native of Phirangipuram in Guntur district, Pavan Kumar, completed intermediate in a private college and was preparing for JEE Mains, scheduled to be held on Sunday.
In a suicide note recovered from his room, the victim reportedly said he was ending life ‘unable to bear the academic pressure’.
The note purportedly written by the student would be sent for Forensic Science Laboratory for examination, said Gannavaram Circle Inspector Mohammad Ali.
The body was shifted to Government General Hospital (GGH) mortuary for post-mortem.
A case under Section 174 CrPc was registered.
