March 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:54 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Intake, content and impact were three key factors which matter the most in communication skills, said T. Chendil Kumar, chief catalyst from Bengaluru-based CK Consultancy.

Delivering a lecture on ‘English Communication Skills’ organised by the English faculty of Freshman Engineering Department in PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Mr. Kumar emphasised on the importance of English speaking skills and cited interesting examples to substantiate his point.

He said one must focus on accuracy, brevity and clarity in a conversation.

In the afternoon session, N. Usha Rani from Krishna University threw light on aspects relating to ‘Creating Writing’. “Creativity is locked in every person but very few people unlock their hidden talent and hone their skills. Creativity leads to progress, progress leads to innovation and innovation leads to inventions. In this way, new technologies enter the world.” She said preparation, research and writing could lead to innovation. She said students could start writing their diaries to begin with. Siddhartha Academy president N. Venkateswarlu, Principal of PVP SIT S.V.M. Bhuvanaika Rao, Head of the English Department Ch. Padmanabha Raju and college convenor B. Sriramulu were on the dais.
