Innovation gives Facebook the edge

Facebook needs no introduction, but what makes it different from other social media platforms is innovation. FB comes up with ‘game-changing’ features every week by drawing from its global talent pool and agencies like Paris-KRDS. It is the Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD) that gives FB its edge over other social media networks by creating applications and new ways of connecting to people across the world.

“My Space was once a leader in social media space, but many such platforms fell by the wayside due to aggressive marketing by FB, and more than that, the trendy things that made it the hot favourite of users of the Internet,” said K. Siddesh Seetharam, HR Manager, KRDS, on the sidelines of a seminar held at Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao College of Engineering and Technology.

He said there was no end to innovation at FB and took pride in his agency emerging the winner at Facebook Innovation Competition for its product Feedizr, a custom ad-generation tool that sets up and targets Ad campaigns in Facebook News Feed.

KRDS is also associated with Sina Weibo, a popular social media network in China where FB is banned.

It was the first non-Chinese company that won the distinction there. “All this could not happen without innovations taking place regularly,” Mr. Seetharam observed.

Asked where the Indian youth stood in the international market in terms of their competitiveness, Mr. Seetharam said they had the requisite skills, but many of them were not able to present themselves to the corporate sector.

“They [youth] could benefit a lot from FB, which facilitates sharing of experience with their peers across continents easily, thereby helping them expand their horizon,” he added.
