The turn out of visitors at All India Industrial and Agricultural exhibition, one of the few seasonal hangouts in the city, is slowly picking up. The ongoing exhibition is two months behind the schedule.
There is a drop in number of stalls, but it still has something in store for the visitors, more particularly children. The amusement themes, camel and horse rides are sure attraction there. At one end, one will find people bargaining with vendors over prices on various articles and at the other attention is drawn towards the colourful amusement themes.
The vendors have too much time to spend on every customer as the crowd is thin. One need not wait in long queues to have a joy ride on giant wheel. The garments, crockery, toys, handlooms, handicrafts are some of the attractions. Stalls that offer carpets, mats, cushions, bed sheets, pillow covers and other decorative stuff are there.
This year, the food lovers can find dosa camps, simla mirchi, chat items from Delhi, chicken savouries, traditional munta masalas, junnu. The organisers have planned for 376 stalls, but only 237 stalls were occupied.
Exhibition society secretary G.V. Rama Rao said the exhibition would be on till July 15. The society took every measure to ensure that winds and gales do not hamper the arrangements. The stalls were constructed in a perfect manner, he said.
