Two schools in Bhavanipuram in the city have benefited from the benevolence of German people thanks to the active part taken by a group of Indo-German Friendship Forum to collect money from the schools and communities in Germany to fund needs here.
A five-member delegation, which was here to watch the activity being taken or to be taken up with Rs.3.5 lakh donation they made to the SKCV School and Dr. Ambedkar School and have a first-hand information about the utility of their charity, visited The Hindu office here in Autonagar on Wednesday.
As part of the delegation, a working journalist Siegfried Wagner showed interest in the process of new collection and publication, various software being used for making pages etc. to understand the difficulty of bringing out a newspaper in Indian conditions.
“I am surprised that the vote on No-confidence motion in A.P. Assembly was carried in the next day's paper though it took place beyond 1.30 a.m., which is not possible in Europe – no newspaper does it,” was how reacted to the recent coverage by The Hindu.

The Hindu office explained that it was their wish bring a delegation of children every year to understand the conditions under which children study here and do some practical work to derive satisfaction. One of the coordinators of the entire programme Ravindra Gujjula explained that fund-raising activity in Germany was quite fruitful and they could raise about 800,000 Euros so far in four years.
The three-week exchange progamme of students every year for 15 students was organized a couple of months ago and a delegation also helped build some houses for the Tsunami-affected in Avanigadda area in Krishna District.
Fishermen were also given six shelters on the sea front so that they could work there. Others who accompanies them included Beate Wagmer, Nicolas and Gabi Gujjula.
