The STPI Director inaugurated an incubation centre facility here on Wednesday. On the occasion, he said that the STPI was constructing the IT tower in the city to develop its sub centre into a full-fledged facility soon. The IT tower would provide an incubation facility for many companies at a time and also provide other services like hosting of web sites etc. for the companies registered with the STPI, he said.

As many as 21 IT/ITES companies have registered with the STPI-Vijayawada. Currently the STPI Vijayawada sub-centre’s incubation facility has 2,000 sq.ft. space. It has 23 workstations and 2 manager cabins. While each workstation would cost Rs.2,600 per month, manager cabin would cost Rs.3600 per month. The incubation facility would be useful for the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) for commencing their operations immediately. Plans are afoot to add another 4,000 sq.ft incubation facility at the existing building. Two more floors would be constructed to create additional space.
