A national seminar on ‘Hindi, Telugu Katha sahityam-Vaisishtyam' underscored the importance of story in literature. The Telugu and Hindi departments of Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala organised the seminar here on Friday.
On the occasion, Inspector General of Prisons C.N. Gopinath Reddy said that the story was one of the oldest forms in literature.
The story literature was as old as the language. The language for a story literature might be different. But, the culture was same.
The story writers should keep in mind that their story literature should drive the people in right direction. Every word they write has a bearing on the society, he said.
Describing Hindi as a language with many diversities and intricate professor C. Annapoorna said that bringing together several experts in Hindi and Telugu was a good effort for promoting the languages.
At the valedictory session Ravi Babu described the number of papers presented at the national seminar as an example of interest people had in the Hindi and Telugu improving connections between the writers in both languages.
It would also give rise to translations.
Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education secretary N. Venkateswarlu, College T. Vijayalakshmi, M. Sampath Kumar of Madras University and others spoke.
