IMD to donate two used radars

The Indian Meteorological Department will donate two used S-Band weather radars, located atop Dolphin's Nose here and at Machilipatnam (French Pet) to the government educational institutions, Director of Cyclone Warning Centre here said in a press release on Monday.

The radars will be donated on as-is-where-is basis and the interested institutions have to remove, reinstall and maintain the radars on their own. The equipment must be used only for educational and R and D purposes and not for commercial use.

Interested government institutions may contact the IMD through the Director of Cyclone Warning Centre, Chinna Waltair, Visakhapatnam 530 017.
