The Institute of Economic Studies (IES), New Delhi, has conferred the ‘Udyog Rattan Award' on Sabbineni Surendra, Chairman and Managing Director of Coastal Projects Limited.
Mr. Surendra, who belongs to Vijayawada, studied his matriculation in Montessori School and Intermediate in Siddhartha College.
The Institute of Economic Studies is a premier research-oriented and awareness-promoting organisation conducting studies related to Indian economy.
The award was presented to Mr. Surendra at a function in New Delhi on June 29. The institute also conferred an excellence award to Coastal Projects Ltd. for “outstanding performance” in industrial development, according to a press release here on Saturday.
CPL is a fast-rowing specialist infrastructure company having leadership position in underground excavations, especially tunnelling.
The institute, in a citation, said CPL was given the excellence award “in recognition of the trail-blazing performance of the company, which has grown its business at 73 per cent per annum over the last five years.”
Mr. Surendra is a graduate in engineering and management having vast experience as a chartered engineer in the field of civil engineering, infrastructure project, and hydel power.
In the past 10 years, he has developed expertise in construction of underground projects, specialising in underground tunnelling, powerhouse complexes, and exits.
The others who were given awards by the institute included noted persons such as Hari Shankar Singhania, Abid Hussaian, L. Madhusudhan Rao, and Thomas Pantleon.
