Team India hone their skills at ACA Women’s Cricket Academy
It was back to action at the cricketing turf at the Women Cricket Academy on a bright Sunday morning after a spell of rain during the last two days cast a dampener on the training camp for the Indian Cricket Team probables on the premises of JKC College grounds.
The team is gearing up for the ICC T-20 World Cup to be played in Sri Lanka next month. The BCCI selection committee would select the final 15 players at the academy at the end of training camp. The 30-member Indian contingent got their stride quickly and the members led by skipper Mithali Raj had a prolonged net session watched by the coach Anju Jain. Medium pacer Jhoolan Goswami had a lengthy bowling session in nets. The fielding drills tested the fitness levels of the team. “Fielding is the key in T-20 matches and it is important to have good fitness levels throughout the tournament,’’ coach Anju Jain said.
