P. Satyam Babu, who was acquitted and released from jail in the Ayesha Meera rape and murder case, has alleged that the police dubbed his voice — he did not confess to the crime.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) handed over Rs. 5,000 to Mr. Babu’s family at Press Club here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Babu said the investigation officers had foisted a false case against him.

False case

“The police also threatened to kill my mother and sister if I did not confess to Ayesha’s killing,” Mr. Babu alleged. “There is a threat to my life from the police. If any harm is done to me, police officers investigating the case will be responsible,” Mr. Babu said.
