Basking in the success of three consecutive hits, including a Kannada film, actress Adah Sharma clings on to superstition when it comes to spilling the beans on her forthcoming projects.
“It’s a sentiment that started with the shooting of Heart Attack movie with Nithin and I chose to continue it. I usually reveal information about a new project only after at least 20 days of the shooting. No, I neither believe in astrology nor in numerology… it’s just a sentiment,” says the actress with a smile.
Three hits
Ms. Sharma was in the city to inaugurate Calvin Klein and Wrangler showrooms in P V P Square. “Unlike my contemporaries, I am really lucky as I got three hits in a row,” she says, pointing to the recently-released S/o Satyamurthi starring Allu Arjun, Samantha and Nithya Menon, Kannada film Rana Vikrama with Puneeth Rajkumar and Heart Attack with Nithin, all box office hits.
On her forthcoming projects, she said shooting for Telugu film Garam with Adhi had already started while two Telugu and a Tamil film are in the pipeline. Speaking about her entry in the film industry, Ms. Sharma says it all started when she was in tenth class. “I developed interest in acting and was ready to do whatever it takes to make it.”
Her debut film 1920 , directed by Vikram Bhatt, was a box office hit. It earned her favourable reviews for her performance. “Though my parents are slightly orthodox, I managed to convince them and started focusing on my acting career. Four years after the auditions in Mumbai, I got an opportunity in 1920 film,” she says.
Ask her if she has a dream role and Ms. Sharma says she would like to play a character that revolves around a dancer.
She was seen in Bollywood flick Hasee toh phasee , released in 2014. A native of Palakkad, she is currently trying to master Kathak at Gopi Krishna Institute of Dance, Bandra in Mumbai.
