The demand for a High Court Bench between Vijayawada and Guntur was reiterated by the Bezawada Bar Association.
The two-day High Court Mega Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Metropolitan Sessions judge R. Murali at the Nyaya Seva Sadan building in the Civil Courts here on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering, Bar Association president Gogusetty Venkateswara Rao said the Mega High Court Lok Adalat was a great benefit to the people of Krishna district, who were pursuing cases in High Court.
“There has been a long-pending demand for the establishment of a High Court Bench between Vijayawada and Guntur.
The establishment of a High Court Bench would create an appellate jurisdiction,” he said.
Secretary of High Court Legal Services Committee, Hyderabad, Justice P. Mohan Rao said the two-day Mega Lok Adalat was a boon to the people of Krishna district. Urging the litigants to make the best use of the opportunity, Mr. Justice Mohan Rao said High Court Chief Justice would address the petitioners through a video link on March 31.
He said such a mega adalat would be organised again based on the public response to the two-day event.
Mr. Murali said this was a great opportunity to those spending time and money fighting their cases in the High Court to resolve their cases.
