Apart from reaching out to pilgrims of the Krishna Pushkaram in all possible ways, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also using his personal Twitter handle to extend support to the pilgrims and solve their problems.
“I appeal to the pilgrims attending #KrishnaPushkaralu to report about any inconveniences faced. Issues will be addressed on priority basis [sic]”, he tweeted as the event began in the State.
Soon twitter users started responding. They asked the Chief Minister to solve their problems regarding accommodation, access to ghats and others. Surprisingly they got replies from Mr. Naidu followed by calls from his office that sought further information and ensured their request is addressed.
A banker, Abhishek Sinha from Darjeeling, tweeted to Mr. Naidu that his parents are visiting Srisailam from Mumbai and he was helpless in arranging accommodation for them. He also provided his contact number and the Chief Minister’s office got in touch with him which resulted in Mr. Sinha’s parents being directed to a decent accommodation.
“We were very glad that the Chief Minister responded so quickly and we are thankful to him as well as the CMO. I was in Darjeeling and my parents are starting from home in Mumbai. They wanted to take a dip in the river at Srisailam and with no other option left I approached the Chief Minister on Twitter,” says Mr. Sinha speaking to The Hindu over phone.
“@ncbn @AndhraPradeshCM Went to Satrasala ghat for holy dip. Very poor arrangements. No sheds for people. Hot sun and sand on road. Horrible [sic],” tweeted a user, Ramarao.
In no time, Ramarao got reply from the Chief Minister, “@ramaraog80 @AndhraPradeshCM Informed police officials and transport minister. Directed them to take an action. Keep us informed [sic].”
To another complaint from Rajendra Kumar on access to ghats, the Chief Minister tweeted informing that traffic restrictions have been reduced and teams will help him make it a convenient experience.
