Guntur to host book fair

Vijayawada Book Festival Society and NTR Trust are jointly organising a 11-day long book fair at Guntur from September 22 to October 2 in which more than fifty publishers display their publications, according to NTR Trust chairman Vishnu here on Sunday.

“We are planning to organise such book fairs in all thirteen districts of Andhra Pradesh. Last year we had conducted in seven districts,” he added.

VBFS president Surya Venkata Narayana said this year Joshua Foundation has come forward to join them for the successful conduct of the fair. “The fair will be held adjacent to Hindu College”.

The organisers said that the fair was keen on involving local artists and language experts by providing them a platform in all 11-days to showcase their prowess. They also said that efforts were on to increase the reading habit among youngsters.

Ashok Book Centre proprietor Ashok Kumar, and VBFS members Vijaya Kumar, Manohar and Babji took part in the meeting.
