The State government is determined to provide the package under land pooling announced to farmers including those whose lands are being acquired for the expansion of Gannavaram airport. The package would be given only after taking the consent letters from farmers, according to Krishna Collector Babu A.

Speaking at a meeting organised at Collector’s camp office on airport land acquisition here on Wednesday, he said the demand of a few farmers to give compensation equal with that is being extended for riverbed lands and drylands would be taken to the notice of the government.

The Krishna district administration would follow the guidelines stipulated in the Land Acquisition Act and compensation would be paid accordingly, he said.

“We will pay Rs. 46.8 lakh per acre in Ajjampudi, Rs. 58.5 lakh per acre in Buddhavaram, Rs. 97.22 lakh an acre in Kesarapally as compensation,” he said.

The government would spend Rs. 520 crore for acquisition of land and another Rs. 40 crore for rehabilitation of the evacuees. Besides payment of compensation of Rs. 3,969 a square yard, houses would be constructed to those who are losing their land to pave way for shifting the isolation bay from the airport at Buddhavaram, he said.

The Krishna administration is yet to take a decision on the compensation to be paid for trees in farm lands. Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was also present at the meeting, said houses would be constructed to the affected families at Veterinary University and Transport Academy and promised that legitimate demands of farmers would be taken to the notice of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with a request to sort them out.

Joint Collector Gandham Chandrudu said an equal payment of Rs.1.67 lakh for 750 working days would be paid to small and marginal farmers under employment guarantee scheme, he added.
