Barring District Collector Buddha Prakash M. Jyothi, Joint Collector P. Usha Rani and Sub-Collector D. Harichandana all officers in the district will go on mass casual leave from Saturday in support of the Samaikyandhra agitation. Non-cooperation with the district administration has also been planned.

Member of the Krishna District Officers’ Association took the decision to go on mass casual leave at a meeting here on Friday. District Revenue Officer L. Vijaya Chandra, Additional Joint Collector Channakeswara Rao and MEPMA Project Director K. Siva Sankara Rao, addressing mediapersons, said that a programme had been chalked out for the agitation.

All officers, including the gazetted officers, will take up various programmes to “express their solidarity” with the ongoing Samaikyandhra movement being conducted by various employees’ associations. Officers in-charge of essential, emergency and uniformed services will, however, attend duty, they said.

All officers will go on mass casual leave from September 7 to 12. From September 13 to 20 they will participate in dharnas and agitations along with the NGOs and others. The officers will begin ‘non-cooperation’ with the district administration from September 21 to 30, the leaders said.

According to the programme released by the district officers, they will go on mass causal leave a second time from October 1 to 6.
