Media Advisor to State government Parakala Prabhakar on Sunday said the government was keen on promoting art and culture in a big way.
Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to an ongoing art exhibition at Akriti auditorium in Mogulrajpuram, Mr. Prabhakar said Vijayawada had a glorious past of a rich treasure of art and culture. Efforts were on to bring the lost sheen back in this area.
He said as part of his endeavour to preserve the precious ancient art forms, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs. 100 crore for setting up of a Natyaramam at Kuchipudi, to promote the ancient dance form in a big way.
He said the Vijayawada region would soon be the hub of art, culture and literary activities once again.
‘Fruitful’ visit
Responding to a reporter’s query on Chief Minister Naidu’s visit to China, he said it was a ‘fruitful’ one as many entrepreneurs in China were willing to invest in the State.
Earlier in the morning, he attended the alumni meeting of former students of Andhra Loyola College in city.
