Good response to job fair at Nalanda

Over 1,100 final year degree students from 26 colleges in Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari district tried their hand at getting jobs in ING Vysya, MAGMA, Reliance, Lifestyle, HDFC and five other companies at the ‘Job Ready-2011', job fair conducted by Nalanda Degree College here on Friday.

Degree college principal M Anuradha said there was overwhelming response to job fair.

It was good exposure to the students. Acharya Nagarjuna University in-charge Registrar G. Prasad said gone were the days when jobs were available for the asking.

Medallists feted

Students should prepare for heavy competition by gaining knowledge and communication skills.

Students of Nalanda Vidya Niketan School who won medals in various national, State and district-level sports events were felicitated on Friday on the school premises.

Nalanda academic manager M. Venkateswarlu said Nalanda School was striving for the all-round development of the students.

Students were encouraged to perform well not just in studies, but sports also. P.V. Satyanarayana, who won two medals in the 32nd sub-junior and junior aquatic championship held in Karimnagar, A. Mohana Krishna, who won two gold medals in the under-13 national mini archery tournament held here, and A. Datta Vinay, who won bronze medal in the district-level roller skating tournament, held here were felicitated.
